Blank Dummies for Presentations

Good news—most of the cover papers are in and I have had them trimmed so that each team can create two blank dummies for the presentations on Tuesday. Please come to my office on Monday from 9:00–12:30 or Tuesday morning to get the paper for your team and finish constructing the dummy. It will help if you have a ruler and a bone folder to score your pages if needed.

Email me at hboone@tcc.edu or call/text (917) 776-7576 if you need to discuss anything.

Individual feedback for each team is below:

Team Subversive Bindery |  Army, Diane, Jessica, Samantha G., Sara
I have trimmed enough paper for two dummies including the Lynx Opaque Ultra Smooth 80T trimmed for your single sheets and french folds, and Esse Pearlized Silver Smooth 105C for your covers. Please pick up your paper from my office on Monday so that you have time to fold, drill, and bind it before Tuesday’s presentation.

Team Minimal aka Team Super Gold | Courtney, Craig, and Sean
I have trimmed enough paper for three dummies including the Lynx Opaque Ultra Smooth 80T trimmed for your single sheets and Mohawk Curious Collection 80T in Super Gold and Mohawk Curious Collection 111C in Super Gold as options for the cover. Please pick up your paper from my office on Monday so that you have time to score and fold your covers. You might try gluing one together for the presentation.

Team Edition Variable | Amber, Grace, Karin, Levi, Samantha D., Trisha
I have trimmed enough paper for two dummies including the Lynx Opaque Ultra Smooth 80T trimmed for your single sheets.

Unfortunately, none of your other papers have arrived yet. The Neenah Esse Pearlized 80T is not available in the Willow color—so, I have trimmed the same brand and weight in silver as an option for your dummy. So, at the moment, I am missing the Translucent sheet similar to Mohawk Curious Collection, and Mohawk Carnival, Vellum, New Black 100C for your cover. I will keep you posted if it arrives.

It is most important to sew your dummy for the presentation so that it can be shown to the faculty as a viable option. So, please be on the ready to get the paper as it may come in Monday.

Team Hi/Lo | Deborah, Kathryn, Savannah, and Tylor
I have trimmed enough paper for two dummies including the Lynx Opaque Ultra Smooth 80T trimmed for your signatures and French Speckletone Kraft 140C for the cover. Please pick up your paper from my office on Monday so that you have time to score and fold your signatures and bind your magazine.

I did not have time to order the French Speckletone Kraft 70T for your fly sheets. I may have something useable in my office for this purpose—check with me on Monday. I don’t think that you have provided specs for the paper needed to make the folded poster—let’s talk about this on Monday. I have left over French Speckletone Kraft 140C to make the belly band if this is the paper that you plan to use for it—you are welcome to what is left.
